Ashley Nunn, MA

Ashley Nunn, MA, is a marriage and family therapist, an art therapist, an equine-assisted therapist and a registered yoga instructor. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Painting and Printmaking. She later received a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, CA. She has worked extensively with people and families that have experienced post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, eating disorders, anxiety, anger issues, addiction, grief and loss issues and terminal illness. 

In 2011, she started an organization called Awakened Heart Sanctuary that offers retreats that combine yoga, meditation and equine-assisted mindfulness activities. In 2012, she founded a Meditation and Mindfulness program for seniors, hospital staff and people with terminal disease at Sibley Memorial Hospital-Johns Hopkins Medicine in Washington, D.C., where she continues to lead meditation retreats on a quarterly basis. Ashley directs a yoga teacher training program in Holly Springs, N.C., where she also teaches yoga and meditation on an on-going basis. She has travelled extensively throughout Europe, India and Southeast Asia.
